*Don't forget that the $90 fee you paid prior to auditions is non-refundable and will be put toward your first month's class fees. If your class fees are more than $90 you will owe the difference during the first week of classes starting September 12th. Level I: Minimum age of 8;

4:30 p.m. – 6:15 p.m.

Level II: Minimum age of 13;

Group 1: 6:30 – 8:15 p.m.

Group 2: 8:30 – 10:15 p.m.

Student will learn a Lyrical/Ballet, Jazz & Tap combination on this day!

Students will Audition the 3 combinations they learned on the 30^th in front of a panel of judges. They will be given an exact time to return for their tryout on August 31^st.

***Ages for auditions are also based on levels of dance. Ages 8 & Up are similar to Level I at Dance Camp and Ages 13 and Up will be Level II. Dancers should look at the Levels described in the Camp handout to see where they should audition. Any dancer is welcome to bump down to the Level I audition if they feel necessary, but no dancer 12 and under may bump up to the Level II audition unless they are approached by Spotlight Faculty to do so. If you are new to Spotlight, are in the in between age range, or are unsure for any reason about which audition to come to please speak to Dede or Lindsay and they will guide you to the appropriate audition for you. Attending dance Camp will also be great way to make sure you are dancing in the correct audition level.***

Denise has been dancing for Spotlight for 7 years, and has been a member of the Blue, White and Red companies, along with Junior Adagio, Senior Adagio and Funkdafied. She has also competed many times over the years in small groups and trios, and her trio this year “The Garden” received 6th and 7th overall in Senior Duo/Trios at competition. Denise is currently a senior at Powers Catholic High School, with plans to go to Western Michigan University in the fall, to train to become an Air Traffic Controller. Denise has worked extremely hard this year to truly make her senior year with us her best yet and her dedication, determination and overall commitment to dance over this past year makes us proud to award her this honor.

Concert 2011

Next week is our Spring Concert 2011! Don't forget that all rehearsals and shows take place at the U of M Flint Theatre. The University Theatre is located at the corner of Wallenberg and Kearsley Streets downtown Flint. Mailing address: 303 E. Kearsley Street, Flint, MI 48502. Below is a recap of next week's schedule!

Monday, May 9th: Full Company picture on the stage at 5 p.m. sharp followed by a non-costume rehearsal for COMPANY, ADAGIO & FUNKDAFIED DANCERS ONLY!

Tuesday, May 10th: FULL COSTUME DRESS REHEARSAL! Make sure to wear your costumes and have your hair and make-up done as if it were the real show!

4 p.m.: Miss Val's Tuesday 3 & 4's class Dress Rehearsal on the Stage

4:30 p.m.: Miss Carissa's Tuesday 5,6 & 7's class Dress Rehearsal on the stage

5:30 p.m.: All other Spotlight dancers in the 8, 9 & 10's class and Up must be ready in their first costume of the show and onstage at 5:30 sharp! We will run throught the finale first and then the 3 - 7 year old dancers will be free to leave. This will be a long night, so parents please make sure dancers have plenty of water and snacks. This will be our longest rehearsal!

Wednesday, May 11th: FULL COSTUME DRESS REHEARSAL! Make sure to wear your costumes and have your hair and make-up done as if it were the real show!

4 p.m.: Miss Lindsay & Miss Brittany's Saturday 3 & 4's class Dress Rehearsal on the stage.

CONCERT 2011 TICKETS: We are sold out on every show for Concert 2011! Because of this, we will not be holding any ticket sales at the studio, but we will have a waiting list in case any tickets open up. This past weekend our Red, White & Blue Company and Teen Adagio dancers attended the Rainbow Connection Regional Dance Competition at Waterford Mott High School. For the first time ever, all 6 of our full company routines received the highest scoring level of Double Platinum! We are so unbelievably proud of all of our dancers and can't wait to see them compete again this coming weekend too at Thunderstruck's Regional Competition at Walled Lake Northern High School!

Our kids proved this weekend that we truly are the BEST DANCE STUDIO IN GENESSE COUNTY! With all of your help we can win this award through the Flint Journal too! This rehearsal is for all dancers who are competing in the upcoming competitions and runs from 5:30 – 9:00 p.m. (NO COSTUMES; Wear appropriate dance attire and bring all shoes! Funkdafied, you DO need to bring your costume and prop) All dancers competing are called at 5:30; we will be making our way through all of the routines starting with the large groups. We will try to get the Blue company dancers out first. BE READY TO DANCE AT 5:30!!!

Summer Dance Camp: August 16th - 19th, 4 - 9 p.m. There will be 5 classes offered, Ballet, Lyrical, Jazz, Tap & Hip Hop and each class is 1 hr. long. The exact order of classes will be posted at our Open House.

August 16th & 18th: Level II
August 17th & 19th: Level I
$100 for All 10 Classes in your Level! Or $12 Per Class per day
WHICH LEVEL ARE YOU? Read the descriptions below to get a better idea of what class level you should participate in, or please ask instructors for their opinion if you are still unsure.

LEVEL I: (8 yrs old & up): Dancers should have some experience in these subjects, but it is not necessary to have extensive knowledge. They should have worked on single pirouettes and may be working towards doubles, grand jete and developpe leaps, chaine turns in combinations etc. These classes will incorporated barre, across the floor and center floor combinations, but will be moving at a slower pace than Level II classes and will be concentrating on basic technical elements within combinations.
LEVEL II: Dancers should have a strong grasp on these dance techniques already and are looking to expand their talent with advanced choreography. They should already have strong double pirouettes working for triples and other advanced technical elements such as fouettes, attitude leaps, axels etc. Expect combinations to be high paced and to be taught quickly. Classes will include center floor, barre and across the floor materials depending on the class.

Company Auditions: August 31st & September 1st

Tuesday, August 31st :

Level I (Minimum age of 8) 4:30 - 6:15 p.m.
Level II: (Minimum age of 13) Group 1: 6:30 – 8:15 p.m., Group 2: 8:30 - 10:15 p.m. (*You will sign up for one of the two groups to learn the combination when you register for auditions!)

Student will learn a Lyrical/Ballet, Jazz & Tap combination on this day!
Students will then return on September 1st to audition the 3 combinations they learned on the 1st day in front of a panel of judges. They will be given an exact time to return for their tryout on August 31st before they leave.
Ages for auditions are also based on levels of dance. Ages 8 -12 are similar to Level I at Dance camp and Ages 13 and Up will be Level II. Dancers should look at the Levels described in the Camp handout to see where they should audition. Any dancer is welcome to bump down to the Level I audition if they feel necessary, but no dancer 12 and under may bump up to the Level II audition unless they are approached by Spotlight Faculty to do so. If you are new to Spotlight, are in the in between age range, or are unsure for any reason about which audition to come to please speak to Dede or Lindsay and they will guide you to the appropriate audition for you. Attending dance Camp will also be great way to make sure you are dancing in the correct audition level.

2010 SPOTLIGHT DANCE OF THE YEAR

KASEY STARK

Kasey has danced for Spotlight for 7 years and was also our very 1st Dancer of the Year when she was only 11 years old. She is a senior at Powers Catholic High School and will be attending the University of Detroit Mercy studying pre-dental in the fall. Kasey epitomizes what we look for in a model student and she has grown so much over the past 7 years as a dancer that we could not let her graduate without recognizing her once again. Over the years, Kasey has competed not only in the Blue, White & Red Companies, Funkdafied & Tapestry, but she also is the only Spotlight dancer to have done a solo every year. Her 7 Tap solos have scored many Platinum awards and her solo this year placed 3rd at the Thunderstruck Dance competition out of 66 senior solos. Kasey has always gone above and beyond in her work ethic in and out of class. She has participated in every single dance convention we have traveled to, and this year she received a scholarship at The Pulse Dance Convention in Chicago. Kasey is not only a wonderful dancer, but a skilled teacher as well, and she has been working with our younger Spotlight students as an instructor for the past 2 years. We hope that she can inspire her peers and students alike to work as hard as she has over these past 7 years.

We made it! Congratulations on yet another amazing year of dancing at Spotlight. This week is going to be very busy for all of us and it is so important that you all are well organized, on time, at all designated rehearsals and performances, and are ready to dance your hearts out. CONCERT 2010 TICKET SALES

2010 TICKET SALES!

SUNDAY, MARCH 28TH: 1 - 3:30 P.M.

On Sunday, March 28th, you will pick out and receive your initial set of tickets that you are given with your recital fee (5 tickets for 1 Spotlight dancer, 6 tickets for 2 Spotlight dancers & 7 tickets for 3 Spotlight dancers in the family). All monthly tuition payments through May, costume fees, recital fees and competition fees MUST BE PAID IN FULL to receive your tickets.

Tickets will not be given or saved to anyone who is not paid in full through May. You can pay your remaining bill at ticket sales. Cash, Check, Visa & MasterCard accepted.

ALL TICKET SALES ARE FINAL: There are no exchanges or returns on tickets, so make sure you know what show(s) you want your first set of recital fee tickets for. You are welcome to split up your first set of tickets however you'd like. Any ticket exchanges will be done between ticket holders.

If you can not come in on Sunday, your can also call the studio at 810-742-7414 or 810-444-0206 between 1 - 3:30p.m. on Sunday. Your account must be paid in full as well, or you can pay the remaining balance over the phone with a Visa or MasterCard.

Starting on Sunday, April 11th from 1- 3:30 p.m, you can start purchasing additional tickets for $14 per ticket. Starting on this day, tickets sales are on a first come first serve basis and are open to the pubic to purchase as well. *You can NOT buy additional tickets to the show until you have received your first set of recital fee tickets and have paid your balance in full. Our shows do sell fast, so make sure to get your tickets ASAP!

Space is limited, but we will do our best to accommodate all of you who would like to watch. Our parking lot will be very full this week, so don't forget that we also own the gravel lot next door to the barber shop as well. Please remember there is NO PARKING ON EUGENE ST.

Don't forget that our Holiday vacation runs from Monday, December 21st through Sunday, January 3rd. CLASSES RESUME Monday, January 4th.

With winter weather fast approaching, we also wanted to remind you about our snow policy. If Davison Schools close due to snow, so do we. We will NOT close the studio if the schools close due to cold only. If you are unsure, we will always update our website & our voicemail at the studio 810-742-7414 if we are closing.

Congratulations for a great performance at last night's Tapology showcase to Kasey Stark, Airyonna Vincent and Taryn Drumm. They were selected this summer to be a part of the Flinstone Hoofers and performed last night at The Whiting Auditorium.

Also, congratulations to Baylee Withers and Sarah Kennedy, who entered their Tap Duet "When I Grow Up" into the 2009 Tapology Tap Competition Saturday night. The girls received 1st place in Junior Duo/Trios!

Thank you to all the dancers who participated in the Tap festival and took classes throughout the weekend. It is a great opportunity and we are so proud of those of you that were involved.

Don't forget about the following auditions, this SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4TH; audition times are as follows:

FUNKDAFIED - 4:00 - 5:30 p.m.: This is our competition Hip Hop team. You will be taught a 30 second combination followed by an immediate audition of this combination. This group is the most difficult level of Hip Hop at Spotlight and we are looking for dancers who can accurately pick up and retain complex choreography. *We will not be doing a group warm-up; dancers need to arrive at the studio no later than 3:45 and be ready to start learning the combination at 4 p.m. sharp!

JUNIOR/TEEN ADAGIO - 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.: This class requires male and female dancers. During the audition we will be matching up partners by age, size and ability to see who will work best. We can only have as many partners as we have boys, so let us know if you have any brothers, cousins or friends that would like to give it a try. We will be creating a Teen Adagio class as well this year if we have enough boys to separate the age groups. Girls must be at least 8 years old to audition for Junior Adagio.

*Adagio Ladies: Please remember that we choose who will be partners, bringing in a male partner does not guarantee that you will be placed with him.

SENIOR ADAGIO - 7:30 - 9:00 p.m.: This class also requires male and female partners. The audition will run very similar to the Junior/Teen audition, but male dancers need to be able to lift partners overhead and girls must be in White Company or Red Company or of equivalent technical ability. This class works on difficult lifts and more advanced choreography throughout the year.

All of these groups rehearse Sunday afternoons/evenings throughout the dance year!
We will be announcing final class times following the auditions. If you are chosen for any of these groups, more specific information will be given to you prior to your first class! Adagio classes will start the Sunday following auditions.

*BOYS HIP HOP CLASS WITH JARREN MARTIN: This class will also be on Sunday's. It does look like we have a good amount of interest in this and if any other men/boys would be interested please sign up at the studio today!

Company Welcome Party

Today is our COMPANY WELCOME PARTY for those dancers who made one of our amazing dance companies.

The party is today, Monday, September 21st from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m., and it is a mandatory event for all Red, White & Blue Company Dancers! We will be getting to know each other, doing a little dancing (so bring your shoes), handing out and discussing important company information and finding out who our Big/Little Sisters or Brothers for the 2009 – 2010 dance season are.

Monday Hip Hop dancers have class as usual from 4:30 - 5:15 and then the Company party will start at 5:30. All dancers will be done at 8:30 p.m. tonight.

Also, great job to all of our Spotlight dancers during their first week of classes last week! We are so excited about our 7th season. It is going to be our best one yet!

Fox 66: Bringing It Home Performance

This event includes an array of family fun activities, contests, entertainment and music, designed to celebrate the community. “Bringing It Home” provides free parking, free admission, free concerts and many other activities that the entire family is sure to enjoy.

COMPANY AUDITIONS FOR OUR 2009 - 2010 DANCE SEASON!

Interested in trying out for one of our competitive dance companies?

Tryout dates are as follows:

Tuesday, September 1st
Level I: (Minimum age of 8) 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Level II: (Minimum age of 13) 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Student will learn a Lyrical/Ballet, Jazz & Tap combination on this day!

Wednesday, September 2nd
Students will Audition the 3 combinations they learned on the 1st in front of a panel of judges. They will be given an exact time to return for their tryout on September 1st.

***Ages for auditions are also based on levels of dance. Ages 8 -12 are similar to Level I at Dance camp and Ages 13 and Up will be Level II. Dancers should look at the Levels described in the Camp handout to see where they should audition. Any dancer is welcome to bump down to the Level I audition if they feel necessary, but no dancer 12 and under may bump up to the Level II audition unless they are approached by Spotlight Faculty to do so. If you are new to Spotlight, are in the in between age range, or are unsure for any reason about which audition to come to please speak to Dede or Lindsay and they will guide you to the appropriate audition for you***

WHICH LEVEL ARE YOU? Read the descriptions below to get a better idea of what class level you should participate in, or please ask instructors for their opinion if you are still unsure.

LEVEL I: (8 yrs old & up): Dancers should have some experience in these subjects, but it is not necessary to have extensive knowledge. They should have worked on single pirouettes and may be working towards doubles, grand jete and developpe leaps, chaine turns in combinations etc. These classes will incorporated barre, across the floor and center floor combinations, but will be moving at a slower pace than Level II classes and will be concentrating on basic technical elements within combinations.
LEVEL II: Dancers should have a strong grasp on these dance techniques already and are looking to expand their talent with advanced choreography. They should already have strong double pirouettes working for triples and other advanced technical elements such as fouettes, attitude leaps, axels etc. Expect combinations to be high paced and to be taught quickly. Classes will include center floor, barre and across the floor materials depending on the class.

RED, WHITE & BLUE COMP

Auditions will be held for our elite competition teams on August 30th & 31st 2011. Three combinations (Ballet/Lyrical, Jazz & Tap) are taught on the first day and then dancers are given a time to return on the 2nd day to audition the combinations they learned in front of our judges panel. Creative Movement: Offered for ages 3 & 4; this class focuses on building the main concepts and techniques of Ballet and Tap that are needed to advance into other styles of dance, as well as incorporating fun creative movement activities.

Ballet: This class focuses on building the dancers technique, body placement, arm positions, terminology and strength.

Tap: Tap class incorporates beginner through advanced tap terminology and knowledge into rhythmic patterns.

Jazz: Offered for anyone 8-years-old and above, this style of dance incorporates Ballet terminology and technique into fast-paced, up-beat combinations.

Hip Hop: This class presents the latest dance styles of the Hip Hop culture. Dancers who take hip hop MUST take at least one technical class as well (i.e. tap, jazz, ballet, adagio or any combination of these.) & must be 8-years-old or above.

Lyrical: This class takes ballet technique and presents them in a more expressive form.

Adagio: This style of dance incorporates male and female partnering and lifting. There will be an audition for this class.

Pointe: This class is not recommended for dancers under 12-years-old. Students will be placed here once they have shown thorough knowledge of ballet, posture and strength, and have been approved by their ballet instructor.

Other additional/seasonal classes include: Stretch & Strength, Yoga, Turns & Leaps, Pom Pon, Gymnastics, Contemporary, Hip Hop Kids & Ballroom.

Our dance year runs from September through May (9 months). Lesson fees are based on the number of hours each student or family dances per week. Monthly fees are based on an average month; therefore fees will be the same every month. Monthly statements will be sent to you if your account balance is not paid in full within the first 7 days of the month. A $10 late fee will also be added to your balance.

Family rates ONLY apply for immediate family member (brother, sister, mother, father). Lesson fees are NOT REFUNDABLE OR TRANSFERABLE.

A $10 late fee will be added to your bill if payment is not received during the first week of every month.

Extra classes (i.e. Funkdafied, Pointe class, private lessons, competition small groups/solos/duets/trios etc.) all have additional fees not included in our price chart. You will be given these fees if you are chosen for those groups.

DRESS CODE & SHOES
Dancers are to wear shoes selected by Spotlight School of Dance. Shoes for dancers 8-yrs-old and up can be conveniently purchased through the studio. Check with your dance teacher for the shoes you need based on your level of dance.

DANCE APPAREL MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES!

HAIR MUST BE PULLED BACK AT ALL TIMES!

3 – 7 year old dancers: Wear any color leotard with pink tights, pink ballet shoes and black tap shoes.
8 & Up dancers: Black leotard, pink/tan/black tights, Ballet skirt may be added for Ballet Class & dance shorts/capris for other classes. Ask Spotlight what shoes your dancer needs depening on their class placement.
Male dancers: Plain T-shirts, black dance pants, black Tap, & Jazz shoes. Jazz shoes can be worn for Ballet class for male dancers only.

SPOTLIGHT SCHOLARSHIPS & FUNDRAISERS
Our Spotlight Booster club is available for Spotlight families to help fundraise for dance expenses throught the year! Contact Spotlight Boosters at spotlightboosters@comcast.net for more information. Limited Spotlight scholarships are also available through the studio as well.

VACATIONS & SNOW DAYS Spotlight’s schedule runs the same as the Davison School System Calendar for the most part. When Davison Schools have a holiday/snow day, so do we. Classes will be held if schools close due to extreme cold. Make sure to double check out yearly calendar for any differences. The studio's voicemail will be updated in the case of a snow day!

ABSENCES
If a student must miss a class, they can take a make up class with an age equivalent class. Remember, lesson fees are not refundable or transferable, so please try to make it to class and/or a make up class.

SPRING DANCE CONCERT
Spotlight School of Dance will present a spring concert to showcase what our dancers have learned over the dance season. It is optional, but encouraged. Costumes will be selected, and costume fees will be collected with your November payment. A recital fee will also be collected in April to help pay for your initial set of tickets, auditorium rental, props, stage labor etc.

	Dede DeCamp: For the past 41 years, Dede has taught dance in the Flint area. Dede started dancing at the age of six, and has studied dance in Chicago, New York, Detroit and Grand Rapids. She also founded and coached Kearsley Varsity Pom Pon Squad from 1992-1998. In 1985, Dede opened Dancin’ With Dede, and was owner and director for 10 years. After that, she went on to be an instructor and Tap Director in the Davison area for nine years. Dede has choreographed and danced in numerous competitions receiving superior and national awards with her dance companies. This year Dede’s routine “Smooth Criminal” received 1st Overall Teen Productions & “Most Entertaining” routine at the Rainbow Connection Dance Competition.
	Lindsay DeCamp Fullwood: Lindsay is a graduate of Western Michigan University where she was a three-year member of the WMU Dance Team. As the teams head choreographer, she was presented with the teams “Lifetime Achievement Award” for Outstanding Choreography. Lindsay has studied dance through studios since the age of three, and has been choreographing and teaching for 15 years. While in high school, Lindsay danced with the Encore Dance Company. Lindsay has taught dance for Universal Dance Association, the University of Michigan Flint’s Dance Department, and the Flint Music Academy. Lindsay specializes in teaching Jazz, Lyrical and Hip Hop. Lindsay’s routines have received many overalls in their divisions and Platinum ratings in regional and national competitions. This year her Lyrical routine “Man in the Mirror” received the “Creative Concept” award at both Rainbow Connection and Thunderstruck’s Regional competitions.
	Carissa Ash: For the past 18 years, Carissa has danced in the Flint area. Carissa has danced and competed for Spotlight as a member of the Red company since 2004. In 2007, Carissa was honored to be Spotlight's dancer of the year. Outside of the studio, Carissa has studied ballet at FIM for one year, and has taken lessons from Mia Michaels, Wade Robinson, Chris Judd & Doug Caldwell just to name a few. Carissa is currently attending U of M Flint for a major in Human Resource Management and a minor in dance. Carissa has taught Creative Movement, Tap, Ballet & Lyrical for Spotlight since 2007 and is honored to work with your kids at the studio.

	Keith Bonanni: Keith has been a professional actor, singer and dancer since 1984. He is a member of the Actors Equity Association, and a Professional Model for Elite Model Agency and has 39 years of dance experience with such groups as Flint Ballet Theatre, Ballet Michigan and Sandra Brewer’s Dance Studio. He has been a dance instructor for 22 years and a choreographer since 1973. Keith has been in the National Touring Company of many shows including Fiddler on The Roof and Hello Dolly, to name a few. He has also been involved with Grand Blanc Summer Theatre, Carmen and Powers School District’s Theatre departments and Clio Cast and Crew. Keith also participated in Christmas at Whiting from 1968- 1993 and the Nutcracker at the Whiting, Macomb and Fox Theatres. On top of all of that, Keith has been a professional hair stylist for 30 years. Keith currently teaches Senior Adagio for Spotlight.
	Diane Clift: Diane has been dancing for over 25 years and teaching professionally for 18. She has had extensive training and performance experience in Ballet, Modern, Jazz and Musical Theatre. She has studied under world renowned teachers and choreographers and danced the Ballets of: LaBayadere, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Firebird, Les Sylphides, Pas De Quatre and The Nutcracker to name a few. Her Musical Theatre experience includes: Cabaret, where she also served as the Dance Captain, Oklahoma, My Fair Lady, The Merry Widow and Tony’s Greatest Hits- the Best of Broadway. After receiving her B.F.A. in Dance from Wright State University in Dayton, OH and dancing with Dayton Ballet and Dayton Ballet II, she moved on to dance in Atlanta, GA with the Georgia Ballet and Praise In Motion. While there she had the great opportunity to dance for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the ’96 Olympics. She has choreographed for various schools, companies and churches and taught children from the age of four all the way up to and including professional dancers. Diane resides in Grand Blanc with her husband and chiropractor, Jason, and their four children. She is especially grateful to the Lord for all the incredible experiences she has had throughout her dance career. Diane currently teaches Pointe & Ballet for the Red Company at Spotlight.
	Lindsay French: Lindsay has been actively pursuing dance for over 20 years. She has been part of dance companies & competitive dance teams most her life. She has received many awards and recognitions through dance, including being a captain of her H.S. Dance Team which took 19th place at the Universal Dance Association’s National Competition in Orlando, FL! While attending Western Michigan University, she took various dance classes and workshops during her busy schedule of pursuing a degree in Advertising & Promotion. Her freshman year of college, she helped coach the Armstrong Middle School Dance Team. Lindsay is not only privileged to be able to teach Ballet, Tap and Creative Movement to talented 3 – 7 yr. olds, but also thrilled to be a part of a prestigious group of dancers at Spotlight!
	Jarren Martin: Since two- years-old Jarren always had the gift of dance. With no formal training, Jarren was blessed to be able to imitate anything he watched. It was at the age of two that he had first witnessed the man that has been his biggest inspiration to this day, Michael Jackson. Thriller was the first dance he taught himself, since then he has never stopped. He has also been greatly influenced by many other dance legends such as; The Nicholas Brothers, Fred Astaire, Sammy Davis Jr, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Michael Chambers and Gregory Hines. With those influences guiding him, Jarren created his own diverse style of Hip Hop. Though he loves drawing, playing piano, and acting, dance has always been his first passion. For the past 10 years Jarren has directed and choreographed dozens of shows at venues all over Michigan including the 2005 Lansing Jazz festival and recently being the director, choreographer and opening act for artist Bobby Valentino. Jarren has been an instructor of dance for 7 years, but it wasn’t until 2009 that he became a part of Spotlight. After getting such a great response from a special appearance during Spotlights 2009 recital he was asked to be a part of their teaching staff for boys Hip Hop class and he is very proud and considers it a blessing to be part of the Spotlight Dance Family.
	Alana Prine: Alana has studied dance for the past 14 years and has been assistant teaching since 2001. After following her Tap and Jazz dance mentors to Spotlight, Alana began giving private lessons at the studio in 2004 and she also choreographed Bentley’s High School musical “Anything Goes.” Alana was honored to be the 2nd “Spotlight Student of the Year” in 2005. Alana teaches Jazz, Tap, Ballet and Hip Hop for Spotlight, as well as continuing to assistant teach and to give private lessons. Alana is honored to be a part of Spotlight’s teaching staff
	Kasey Stark: Kasey has been dancing for 14 years and assistant teaching for eight years. She has danced under Dede & Lindsay since the age of three. Kasey was honored to be the first Spotlight Dancer of the Year for the 2002 – 2003 dance season. She has taken lessons from top choreographers such as Mia Michaels, Wade Robson, Sonya Tayeh, Travis Wall, Ivan Kumaev, Dave Scott and Misha Gabriel. Kasey has won many awards competing at the regional and national levels as well. She was a member of the tap group, "Flintstone Hoofers," performing in the professional showcase at Whiting Auditorium fall of 2009. and was chosen as an "All-Star" at the Hall of Fame National Competition in Chicago. Kasey is the captain on the Powers Catholic High School’s Varsity Dance Team. She is also involved with the Powers Theatre company doing choreography for their annual musicals. Kasey is very excited and honored to be teaching dancers Tap, Ballet, and Hip Hop at Spotlight!
